Trooper of the Week

George is selected as the Trooper of the week. Jie prepared a presentation poster with George. The following was the write-up. George did not like it. But he got the idea.

Hi, my name is George Rao. I was born in Berkeley, California, and growing up in Plano, Texas.

Many people think my last name is an Indian last name. But actually, my parents are immigrants from China (point at the parent’s photo).

My grandparents live in Beijing, China (point at grandparent’s photo). I visited Beijing last year. It was so much fun.

What I love most is coming to school - Borchardt elementary. After school, I love to play with my family and friends. This picture is when I was playing pirate with my daddy. I have many friends. Last year, there are 22 best friends coming to my birthday party.

My favorite game right now is chess (point to the chess picture) I love to play chess with my chess computer. My chess teacher is Rody, he is from Russia.

My favorite book is "Double Fudge" and "The Fourth Grade Nothing", and my favorite author of course is Judy Blume (point to the picture). Fudge is so funny in these books.

When weather is good, which is not very often in Texas, I love to play soccer. This is my soccer team - Dragon. My coach Bobbi is from England (point to the picture).

This is my piano teacher Ms. Beverley (point to the picture). She gives me a prize if I practice six times a week.

Sometimes I pick stocks for my Dad (point to the picture). The rule of investment is "Buy low, Sell high."

I used to think that I would be a gardener when I grow up (point to the picture). But now, I don't know what I want to be. May be I want to be a doctor. I want to do a lot of things when I grow up. But I know, in United States of America (point to the edge of poster). you can be whatever you want to be. We all will have a great life. God bless you, God bless America.
